Apply sunscreen generously before sun exposure. Insufficient amounts can significantly reduce protection. Reapply frequently, especially after swimming or sweating. Avoid intense midday sun. Protect babies and young children from direct sunlight and use high SPF sunscreen (greater than 25) along with protective clothing. Even high SPF sunscreens do not provide complete protection against UV rays. Do not stay in the sun too long, even when using sunscreen. Sunburn can cause lasting skin damage and should be avoided. Excessive sunbathing poses a serious health risk. Avoid contact with eyes. Apply only to intact skin. Allow sunscreen to absorb completely, especially before entering water. Avoid contact with clothing, textiles, and surfaces as permanent stains or changes may occur even after complete absorption.
